The Executive Council of ESOPRS is happy to announce the future collaboration of ESOPRS with theSouth African Society of Oculoplastic Surgeons (SASOPS) as partner societies. SASOPS was formed in 2004 and held its first standalone annual meeting in 2007. Members of SASOPS are ophthalmic surgeons who have a keen interest in and perform oculoplastic surgeries. We congratulate our new ESOPRS members, who were accepted at the 2021 ESOPRS Virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM) of October 9th, 2021. There are 11 new Full Members, 1 International Members, 6 Associate Members and 2 Candidate Members, giving a total of 20 new members.

ESOPRS membership annual subscription fees have not been increased for a very long time. From 2013 onwards the annual membership fees for Full members and International members will increase from 60.00 € to 80.00 €, for Candidate members from 25.00 € to 40.00 € and for Associate members from 35.00 € to 80.00 €. Inna Vladimirovna Sasim was born and raised in Baranovitsji, a small town southwest of Minsk in the former Sovjet state of Belarus. She passed high school with high marks and studied medicine in Minsk with just as good results. Like her older sister, she specialized in ophthalmology and became a staff-member in Hospital 10 in Minsk. On the 5th of February the digital ESOPRS/ASOPRS symposium on ’Nuances in Periocular Reconstruction’ was held. The two hour interactive Meeting was well attended by more than 400 attendees from the US, Europa and other parts of the world. From June 13 till 16, 2019 the biannual meeting of the European Society of Ophthalmology (SOE) will take place in Nice, France. In September this year we had the pleasure of meeting friends and colleagues in the ancient setting of Naples, during our 41st Annual Meeting of ESOPRS. The host, Diego Strianese had been a fellow to Prof Jack Rootman in Vancouver, Canada more than 20 years earlier and had invited his mentor to give a keynote during his Meeting.
