International Symposium on Wartime Ophthalmic Trauma
ESOPRS is proud to provide partnership support to the first on-line International Symposium on Wartime Ophthalmic Trauma, organised by ASOPRS. The meeting is on May 7, 2022, with costs generously covered by ASOPRS. It will be a 2-hour session starting at 5pm CEST (8am PST / 4pm BST / 5pm CEST / IST 2030).
Prof. Dr. Med. Charles Beyer-Machule passed away peacefully on July 9 after a brief illness.
He was born in Berthelsdorf, Germany on June 4, 1927 and is survived by Janice, his wife of 38 years.After completing his preliminary degree in Biochemistry at the University of Göttingen, Germany, Prof. Beyer-Machule received a scholarship from the Institute of International Education as a graduate student in biochemistry at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where he subsequently he obtained his M.D. degree... read more
The Executive Council of ESOPRS is happy to announce the future collaboration of ESOPRS with theSouth African Society of Oculoplastic Surgeons (SASOPS) as partner societies.
SASOPS was formed in 2004 and held its first standalone annual meeting in 2007. Members of SASOPS are ophthalmic surgeons who have a keen interest in and perform oculoplastic surgeries. Inna Vladimirovna Sasim was born and raised in Baranovitsji, a small town southwest of Minsk in the former Sovjet state of Belarus. She passed high school with high marks and studied medicine in Minsk with just as good results. During the last Annual Meeting of ESOPRS in Hamburg it was decided that the Israeli Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (ISOPRS) is formally associated with ESOPRS as a sister society.
