Dear colleagues,

We cordially invite you to the 17th Beyer-Machule course, advanced training course for plastic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids – on-site. The course will take place from November 24th to 26th, 2022 in the eye clinic of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich.

The interest in plastic-reconstructive and aesthetic surgery in ophthalmology remains high. The Munich “plastic course” meets this interest and offers colleagues from clinics and practices the opportunity to get to know the principles and proven surgical procedures of plastic-reconstructive eyelid surgery and to deepen their own knowledge.

Renowned experts will share their knowledge and experience with you. Practice-oriented and detailed presentations of relevant surgical methods – supplemented by videos – will make it easier for you to plan and successfully carry out interventions on the eyelids and periorbita.

As in the pre-Covid period, the practical exercises to introduce suturing techniques and simple eyelid plastics in the sense of a wet lab on the animal cadaver will continue on Saturday morning. This part is intended for getting started with your own manual work and also has only very limited capacities.

Sufficient time is provided for questions and discussion. An industrial exhibition with specific products will complement the course.

The working group for plastic-reconstructive eyelid and orbital surgery at the eye clinic of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University is looking forward to your participation and wishes you an interesting conference, stimulating discussions and nice days in Munich before Christmas.

University Prof. Dr. medical Christoph Hintschich, FEBO
