44th ESOPRS Meeting 2026 in Portugal

44th ESOPRS Meeting 2026 in Portugal

September 10-12, 2026

Dear colleagues and friends,

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 44th Annual Meeting of the European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ESOPRS), to be held from September 10 to 12, 2026, in Cascais, Portugal.

For the first time, Portugal will host the ESOPRS Annual Meeting, and we are honoured to welcome you to Cascais — a unique destination where history, science, nature, and culture meet in perfect harmony.

A Special Pre-Congress Educational Opportunity

While the official dates of the congress remain September 10–12, the scientific and educational experience of ESOPRS 2026 will be exceptionally enriched this year.

Due to congress logistics and the already established official dates, we are pleased to offer, exceptionally in 2026, a Pre-Congress Cadaver Dissection Course on September 9. This additional activity represents a special academic opportunity and a true educational highlight of the meeting.

The cadaver course will be structured in morning and afternoon hands-on sessions, allowing interested colleagues to engage deeply with surgical anatomy, advanced techniques, and clinical decision-making in a controlled, high-level educational environment. This exceptional initiative further strengthens the scientific profile of the meeting and reflects ESOPRS’ continued commitment to excellence in surgical education.

Pre-Meeting Course

Following this special pre-congress activity, the meeting will officially begin with the traditional Pre-Meeting Course, designed as a comprehensive and structured review of current concepts in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery. This course is particularly suited for young ophthalmologists, fellows, and colleagues who wish to consolidate their knowledge and remain at the forefront of the specialty.

Scientific Program & Case Discussions

The main congress will take place over two days of high-level scientific exchange, featuring rapid-fire presentations, free papers, and lectures delivered by distinguished international keynote speakers.

In addition to these sessions, interactive round tables with discussion panels will play a central role in the scientific program. These panels are designed to promote active participation, critical thinking, and open dialogue among faculty and attendees.

The scientific program will encompass both classical and emerging themes, with special emphasis on artificial intelligence in oculoplastics, advanced orbital and endoscopic approaches, reconstructive challenges, facial trauma, and the evolving interface between function, aesthetics, and technology, alongside the core pillars of eyelid, lacrimal, and orbital surgery.

Delegates from all over the world will gather in Cascais, creating a truly international environment — ideal for scientific exchange, collaboration, and the development of lasting professional and personal connections.

Venue & Destination

Located on the Atlantic coast, just minutes from Lisbon, Cascais has long been a crossroads of cultures, explorers, and thinkers. Once a royal retreat and maritime gateway, it preserves its historical charm while offering modern infrastructure, refined gastronomy, and an inspiring seaside atmosphere.

The congress will take place at the Centro de Congressos do Estoril, an exceptional venue combining elegance, accessibility, and state-of-the-art facilities, set within a vibrant cultural and social landscape.

Final Message

Our goal is to offer not only an outstanding scientific meeting, but a memorable academic and human experience, where tradition, innovation, interaction, and collegiality converge. We hope ESOPRS 2026 will be remembered as a congress that honoured the past, embraced the future, and continuously elevated its scientific standards through meaningful exchange.

Come and feel the light, the ocean, and the spirit of Cascais.

Come and be part of ESOPRS 2026.
