The European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ESOPRS) has been recognized as a reciprocal society to the Asia-Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (APSOPRS).
In 2013 ESOPRS was recognized as a reciprocal society to the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
APSOPRS thanks ESOPRS for continued collegial relationship with APSOPRS. read more

ESOPRS is involved in a number of sessions during the SOE 2017 Congress. A stimulating and exciting scientific programme includes a Keynote Lecture from former ESOPRS President Mr Anthony Tyers, but also other ESOPRS members and Committee Members will speak at various sessions.
It is once again expected that over 3500 delegates from over 100 countries will attend the Congress and promises to be another very successful SOE Congress.

Obituary Prof. Dr. Holger Busse, 1.1.1945 – 29.8.2020
It is our sad duty to announce the unexpected passing of our friend and colleague Holger Busse last Saturday, 29.8.2020. As many of us will know, Holger was one of the founders of ESOPRS in the early eighties last century. He was the Chair of the University Eye Hospital in Münster for 24 years from 1986 – 2010. It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we must let you know of the passing of our colleague Tony Tyers.
As many of you will know, Tony bore a progressive illness over the past few years with characteristic strength, resilience, and commitment both to his family and his work. He was a great teacher, a towering authority in ophthalmology, and a true friend to us all.

The Executive Council of ESOPRS is happy to announce the future collaboration of ESOPRS with theSouth African Society of Oculoplastic Surgeons (SASOPS) as partner societies.
SASOPS was formed in 2004 and held its first standalone annual meeting in 2007. Members of SASOPS are ophthalmic surgeons who have a keen interest in and perform oculoplastic surgeries. During the last Annual Meeting of ESOPRS in Hamburg it was decided that the Israeli Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (ISOPRS) is formally associated with ESOPRS as a sister society. ESOPRS has many active international members from Israel and the Councils of both societies were keen to formally collaborate in scientific events in the future.
