Copyright & Embargo Policy

Copyright

Authors retain the copyright to their submitted abstracts and any related intellectual property.

By submitting an abstract to the ESOPRS 2026 Congress, the submitting author, on behalf of all co-authors, grants the European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ESOPRS) a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to:

  • publish the accepted abstract in the official ESOPRS 2026 Abstract Book;
  • display the abstract on the official ESOPRS Congress website and congress platform;
  • reproduce and distribute the abstract in printed and electronic congress materials;
  • use the abstract title, author information and scientific content for congress-related educational and promotional purposes.

This licence does not transfer ownership of the copyright to ESOPRS.

Authors remain free to publish the full manuscript in peer-reviewed journals or other scientific publications, subject to the policies of the respective publishers.

Authors are solely responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions for copyrighted material included in their abstract, including images, figures, tables or other third-party content.

 Presentation Copyright

Copyright of oral presentations, posters and presentation slides remains with the presenting authors.

Recording, photographing or reproducing presentations by delegates is prohibited unless prior written permission has been obtained from both ESOPRS and the presenting author.

 Embargo Policy

To promote scientific exchange while respecting authors’ publication opportunities, ESOPRS applies the following embargo policy.

Before the Congress

Accepted abstracts may be published in the official Abstract Book and on the ESOPRS website before the congress.

Authors may discuss and promote their accepted work before the meeting, including through institutional communications, professional websites and social media.

However, authors are responsible for ensuring that any prior disclosure complies with the embargo or prior publication policies of any journal to which they intend to submit the full manuscript.

ESOPRS accepts no responsibility for any conflicts with journal publication policies.

 During the Congress

Authors are encouraged to share and discuss their research presented during ESOPRS 2026.

Scientific journalists and media representatives are welcome to report on presentations during the congress, provided that the presenting author has not indicated any restrictions.

 After the Congress

Following presentation at the congress, authors remain free to submit their work for publication in scientific journals.

Presentation at ESOPRS 2026 shall not be regarded by ESOPRS as prior publication.

 Media and Communications

ESOPRS may prepare scientific highlights, press releases or promotional communications based on accepted abstracts.

Authors whose work is selected for media promotion may be contacted separately by the ESOPRS Congress Secretariat.

By submitting an abstract, the submitting author confirms that:

  • all authors have approved the submission;
  • the information provided is accurate;
  • appropriate ethical approvals and patient consent have been obtained where applicable;
