Intradermal suturing in upper blepharoplasty: refinement of the technique.

Purpose
This video presents a refinement of the intradermal suturing technique in upper blepharoplasty, aiming to facilitate the procedure and reduce postoperative patient discomfort.
Methods
An intradermal suture is performed using a non-absorbable thread, in two running parts, instead of one. In the end, the knot is done with an interlacing of the thread ends and fixation of the knot on the skin.
Results
Separating the suture into two parts takes into account the differences in curvature of the incision and facilitates the sliding of the thread both at the end of the procedure and during its removal. The knotting of the ends, intertwining the two parts and fixating them to the skin, prevents the thread from becoming loose and entering the eye during the postoperative period.
Conclusion
The technique presented offers the benefits of intradermal suturing for a better-looking scar and allows for greater patient comfort post-operatively and during suture removal.
