Purpose

Currently, there is a paucity of focused studies addressing lid crease reformation in the context of upper eyelid burn and trauma reconstruction. Most available reports discuss eyelid management in general terms, without detailing specific techniques or outcomes related to aesthetic crease restoration. Given the increasing emphasis on aesthetic outcomes in reconstructive surgery, there is a need to document reproducible techniques that address both functional and cosmetic aspects of upper eyelid reconstruction.

Methods

This retrospective case series included three patients who underwent reconstruction for post-burn and trauma of upper eyelid deformities at our institution DESH .Institutional ethical approval was obtained, and written informed consent was secured from all patients for surgery and publication of clinical photographs.
Inclusion Criteria
• Reconstruction using skin grafting
• Lid crease reformation performed at the time of grafting

Results

All three patients achieved complete graft take without partial or total graft loss. Restoration of eyelid closure was achieved in all cases, with no evidence of lagophthalmos or exposure-related complications. A stable and well-defined upper eyelid crease was observed in all patients during follow-up, with satisfactory symmetry and eyelid contour.

Conclusion

Primary lid crease reformation performed at the time of upper eyelid skin grafting following trauma or burn is a simple and effective technique that enhances aesthetic outcomes while maintaining satisfactory eyelid function. Incorporation of lid crease reconstruction into primary eyelid reconstruction may improve overall patient satisfaction.
