Climate

Autumn may be the perfect season to visit Bucharest, with pleasant temperatures and plenty of daylight.
The average temperature in Bucharest in September is very mild at 16.9 °C (62.42 °F).
Afternoons can be fairly hot with average high temperatures reaching 24.6 °C (76.3 °F).
Overnight temperatures are generally quite mild with an average low of 11.1 °C (52 °F).
There is a chance of rain on some days, so be sure to pack a few warmer things.

Time Zones

Bucharest operates on Eastern European Standard time, which is 3 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). For international passengers, we suggest that you try to allow yourself at least a day in which to adjust to the time difference and relax after your flight before the Meeting commences.

Credit cards

Credit cards are widely accepted. Commonly recognized cards include Visa and MasterCard.

Electricity

The electrical current in Romania is 220V (50 Hz). In case your equipment requires different voltage, please make sure you bring an electrical transformer.
The sockets are two-pin so they are not compatible with British, American or Indian plugs.

Health

You do not need any other health certificate or vaccines to enter Romania.

Insurance

It is strongly recommended that delegates take out adequate travel and health insurance prior to the commencement of travel. Further information can be obtained from your travel agent.
The registration fee does not cover insurance for the delegates.

Currency exchange

The Romanian national currency is LEU, subdivisible in BANI.
Foreign currency can be exchanged at banks or exchange offices called ”CASA DE SCHIMB”.
Euros and US Dollars are the easiest to exchange. Please note that most banks close at 3.00 PM and you will need your ID/passport when for the exchange.

The Organizers accept no liability for injuries/losses of whatever nature incurred by participants and/or accompanying persons, nor for loss or damage to their luggage and/or personal belongings. Delegates should make their own arrangements with respect to personal insurance.

No Smoking Policy

Delegates should be aware that smoking is banned in the venue, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, as well as in most public buildings.

Official Language

The official language of the Meeting is English.

Travel and Program Disclaimers
