We congratulate our new ESOPRS members, who were accepted at the 2018 ESOPRS Annual Meeting in Bucharest. There are fifteen new Full Members, one International Member, four Associate Members and ten Candidate Members.
Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to announce that we are in the last day for abstract submissions to the World Society of Ophthalmic, Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeons (WSOPRAS 2023). With the support of over 30 major Oculoplastic societies, let us seize the opportunity to present your case-based discussions with experts alongside the traditional conference format. Prof. Dr. Med. Charles Beyer-Machule passed away peacefully on July 9 after a brief illness. He was born in Berthelsdorf, Germany on June 4, 1927 and is survived by Janice, his wife of 38 years. After completing his preliminary degree in Biochemistry at the University of Göttingen, Germany, Prof. Beyer-Machule received a scholarship from the Institute of International Education as a graduate student in biochemistry at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where he subsequently he obtained his M.D. degree... read more
ESOPRS membership annual subscription fees have not been increased for a very long time. From 2013 onwards the annual membership fees for Full members and International members will increase from 60.00 € to 80.00 €, for Candidate members from 25.00 € to 40.00 € and for Associate members from 35.00 € to 80.00 €. Inna Vladimirovna Sasim was born and raised in Baranovitsji, a small town southwest of Minsk in the former Sovjet state of Belarus. She passed high school with high marks and studied medicine in Minsk with just as good results. Like her older sister, she specialized in ophthalmology and became a staff-member in Hospital 10 in Minsk. Dear Colleagues, CHALLENGING CLINICAL CASES As we all know, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused an unprecedented public health challenge, and we were forced to postpone our Annual Meeting a full year. Obituary Prof. Dr. Holger Busse, 1.1.1945 - 29.8.2020 It is our sad duty to announce the unexpected passing of our friend and colleague Holger Busse last Saturday, 29.8.2020. As many of us will know, Holger was one of the founders of ESOPRS in the early eighties last century. He was the Chair of the University Eye Hospital in Münster for 24 years from 1986 - 2010. The Executive Council of ESOPRS is happy to announce the future collaboration of ESOPRS with theSouth African Society of Oculoplastic Surgeons (SASOPS) as partner societies. SASOPS was formed in 2004 and held its first standalone annual meeting in 2007. Members of SASOPS are ophthalmic surgeons who have a keen interest in and perform oculoplastic surgeries. It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the passing of Professor Dr Juan Murube del Castillo.
